What this page covers

This explains what Webmax collects when you contact us, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers this website only.

This is a working draft, not final legal text. It is being reviewed. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, please ask us first.

What we collect

We collect information in two places, and both are things you type yourself.

When you send us an enquiry:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number, if you give one
  • Your business name, if you give one
  • Whatever you write in the message

When you answer the questions on a package page:

  • The same contact details as above
  • Your answers to the questions on that page
  • The language you chose to be contacted in

We also record which page the form was sent from, and the date and time.

What we do not collect

We do not use advertising trackers. We do not sell your details. We do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.

We store a scrambled version of your internet address rather than the address itself. It cannot be read back. We keep it only to recognise repeated abuse of our forms.

Why we collect it

To reply to you. That is the whole reason.

If you become a customer, we keep your details so we can do the work and support the site afterwards.

Who can see it

Only Webmax staff. We do not pass your details to anyone else unless you ask us to, or unless the law requires it.

Our website runs on servers we rent. Those providers can technically access the machine, as any hosting provider can. They are not permitted to use your data.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept while they are still useful to follow up, and removed after that.

Customer records are kept for as long as we work together, and afterwards for as long as we need them for accounts and support.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it. You can ask us to delete it, unless we need it for a legal or accounting reason.

Write to us using the contact details on the contact page and we will deal with it.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

If you are signed in to the Webmax admin, a session cookie keeps you signed in. That is the only cookie the site sets.

Changes

If we change this page we will change the date at the top.
