What this page covers
These are the terms that apply when you buy a website or hosting from Webmax.
This is a working draft, not final legal text. It is being reviewed. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, please ask us first.
Quotes and prices
The prices on the package pages are starting prices. They are the price for the package as described on that page.
Anything outside that description is quoted separately. We tell you the price before we build it, in writing.
A price we give you in writing holds for 30 days.
What you give us
To build your site we need your content. That usually means text, photographs and your logo.
If you do not have them, tell us early. We can help, but it changes the timeline and it may change the price.
You confirm that you have the right to use everything you send us. If you send us an image you do not own, that is your responsibility, not ours.
Timelines
We give you a date when we quote. That date assumes you get us your content and your feedback when we ask for them.
If content or approvals are late, the date moves. We will tell you when that happens.
Payment
We agree the payment terms with you in writing before the work starts.
Changes during a project
Small changes are part of the work. Changes that add pages, features or scope are quoted separately before we do them.
Handover
When the project is finished the site goes live on your hosting and we show you how to run it.
Hosting
Hosting is the service that keeps your site online. The first year is included with every website package. After that it renews yearly at the published price.
Our shared hosting is a fair-usage service. We put a limited number of sites with similar traffic on one server, and that is what keeps the price low.
If your site starts using much more than its share, we will tell you and talk through the options with you. We will not switch it off without warning you first.
Domain names
A domain name is the address of your site, for example yourbusiness.lk. It is registered in your name and it stays yours.
Domain fees are not included in a package price and are billed at cost.
Third-party services
Some things a site needs are not ours to provide. Payment providers, courier services and similar all charge their own fees and set their own terms.
We will connect them where the package says so. What they charge you is between you and them.
Who owns what
When you have paid in full, the site is yours.
The tools and code we reuse across projects stay ours. That does not stop you using, changing or moving your site.
Support after launch
We fix things that we got wrong. If something we built does not work as agreed, tell us and we will fix it.
New work after handover is quoted separately.
Ending the arrangement
You can stop a project. We will invoice for the work done to that point.
We can stop a project if it becomes impossible to continue, for example if we cannot get the content or approvals we need. We will tell you why.
Limits
We do our best work, but no website is free of risk. We are not liable for losses caused by things outside our control, such as a hosting outage, a third-party service failing, or a change made to the site by someone other than us.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka.
